San Francisco: I met Erica and held her real live book; we ate at Tartine and went up to the top of Bernal Hill. I went to Berkeley and had lunch at Chez Panisse (the cafe) – garden lettuce salad, and wood oven-roasted prawns with chicories and shaved fennel. I couldn’t choose between peach or strawberry icecream so they let me have a scoop of each. Also it’s really hot. Also San Francisco is amazing!
